Rose Cottage is dedicated to supporting Autistic adults, offering an initial comprehensive assessment, from which personalised interventions are developed. We recognise that individuals within the spectrum differ in how severely they are affected in each of the triad areas.

Staff

Rose Cottage staff are experienced in exploring innovative solutions to improve outcomes for people with autism. People are supported by experienced staff that have completed training and induction in Autistic Spectrum Conditions including managing challenging behaviour Studio 3 and Positive Behaviour Management low arousal techniques. Tracscare also employs qualified Clinical Support Nurses and has Behaviour Advisors to support the individual and their team to work with improve communication, emotional and behavioural strategies.

Location

Rose Cottage is situated in Gwaun Cae Gurwen, in an attractive, rural part of South Wales. This small village sits on the outskirts of Ammanford, at the foot of the Black Mountain. A few miles away is Sugar Loaf Mountain, Usk Reservoir, Aberdulais Falls, Wildlife & Wetlands Bird Sanctuary, Carreg Cennen Castle and a rare breeds farm. Gwaun Cae Gurwen is approximately 20 minutes drive from Swansea.

Accommodation

Rose Cottage has 5  bedrooms,  a lounge, dining room, kitchen and other communal areas. Outside there is a spacious garden with patio area and picturesque views of the Black Mountain. Rose Cottage has a specially converted mini-bus designed to provide service users with a feeling of space.  If required, the home offers scope for two bedrooms to provide a self-contained unit with a bedroom, lounge and bathroom, in order to meet complex and intensive support needs. In-house facilities include up-to-date computer systems, Snoezelen facilities and a sensory garden area.
