tracscare Group Staff

We employ a dedicated team of professional staff. Anyone joining our team will receive a high level of training and development opportunities. In particular, tracscare offers a unique, 'fastrac', training scheme, for suitable and interested candidates, which leads to rapid career progression.

Our Commitment to Training & Development

As an 'Investors in People' accredited company, tracscare are committed to training and developing staff.

All tracscare staff receive regular training and some attend external training day release courses. tracscare encourages promotion from within, subject to ability. Many of our Home Managers commenced with tracscare as Support Workers, through our unique 'fastrac' training and development programme.

tracscare provides a range of internal training programmes including the LDAF framework; extensive induction; understanding the clients perspective; clinical induction and more.

tracscare also provide external training with NVQ's, First Aid and Food Hygiene.

One special feature of our training for all employees is 'Studio III' training, provided at induction, which outlines tracscare positive, low arousal approach to managing challenging needs.

Staff Appraisals

Every tracscare Group employee receives regular appraisals, where they and their Manager, reviews progress, training and other needs. All staff receive monthly supervisions during their 9 month probationary period. Appraisals will be held thereafter on a yearly basis. Appraisals are supported by regular on-going supervision sessions.

We have different Terms and Conditions of Employment for each of the four companies that form the tracscare Group. It is not possible to include every variation but in general, the terms and conditions are

Hours of Work

All tracscare Group Care staff work a shift system including a share of weekend and Bank Holiday working. Full-time hours are

35 hours per week for tracs LTD

40 hours per week for Compass Care Ltd

37 hours per week for Honeybrook House (Kidderminster) 

37.5 hours per week for Alkare LTD

39 hours per week for Positive Lifestyles LTD

All tracscare Group Care staff are required to work occasional awake or sleep-in duties at night. Day shifts may vary according to each tracscare Group company, but typically they are:-

However, these shifts may be subject to change, according to the needs of the client group. Support Assistants may work fixed shifts and or part time shifts.

Annual Leave

All employees are entitled to 5.6 weeks paid holiday per annum.  Deputy Home Managers are entitled to 6 weeks paid holiday and Home Managers receive 6 weeks and 2 days paid holiday. The above entitlement is inclusive of statutory holidays.

Sick Pay

The Company will pay SSP in accordance with current government rules - up to 28 weeks in any one year period.  The company will not pay sickness continuing after this time, you are advised to contact your local Employment Service, who will advise you accordingly. The following conditions also apply:

-Payment of SSP may be withheld if absence is not properly notified or if the reason for absence is unacceptable to the Company.

Qualifying days for SSP are days when you would normally be required to work. This is the total sick pay entitlement per employee, over a period of twelve months, calculated on a rolling basis.

Additional 'Duvet' days are awarded to staff with a nil sickness absence over stipulated periods.

Health Scheme

tracscare Group offers all employees the opportunity to join, a substantially subsidised, cash benefit health scheme, which provides cash sums towards hospital treatment, dental work, optical equipment and much more.

Pension

All new tracscare Group staff are invited to join a Stakeholder Pension Scheme, operated by an Independent Advisor and administered by the relevant tracscare GROUP company.

Compassionate Pay Scheme

All tracscare Group companies operate a paid compassionate leave scheme, subject to approval by a Divisional Director.

Paternity Pay Scheme

All tracscare Group companies operate a Paternity Pay scheme.

Staff Dress

There is no tracscare Group uniform, staff wear their own clothing, in line with the company dress code.
