Home Managers 20 years service milestone
27 July

Trevelyan Home Manager, Sue Roberts, celebrates her 20 year long career with tracscare

These days it’s rare to find anyone has worked for a company for more than 10 or even 15 years, so to have worked for tracscare for 20 years without a break deserves a big celebration.

Sue started her career in care in 1984 as a Nanny in Portugal, and then completed 7 years as an auxiliary nurse in St David’s Hospital in Cardiff.  But on June 1st 1990, tracscare was fortunate to welcome a new staff member who was about to devote 20 years care and support for clients.

Starting in Autism home Rose Cottage as a support worker, Sue soon found herself climbing the promotion ladder to a grade 3 Support worker, then a Senior Support Worker within six months.  Soon Sue was an assistant home manager then a Deputy Home Manager after another six months before achieving Acting Manager’s Status of Bryn Irfon.  From Support Assistant to Acting Home Manager took only 2 years for Sue and her career since then has seen Sue open homes across England and Wales such as Hollyhouse and Gower Lodge and manage existing homes Hazeldene, Homleigh, James Street and current home Trevelyan.

Sue has used her experiences gained in tracscare to achieve her NVQ Level 4 as a Registered Manager in addition to her A1 and A2 Assessors qualifications.  Sue’s latest qualification is her City and Guilds in Community Mental Health Level 3.

Sue celebrated her 20 year milestone with a surprise party at head office which included a big cake, bouquet of flowers and silver bracelet.

Asked about her future plans at tracscare, Sue commented

‘My plans for the future are the same as what they have always been for the past 20 years, to support the clients as best as I can, and to run Trevelyan as a welcoming home where clients are given the maximum support they need to progress.’

Congratulations Sue from everyone at Tracscare, and thank you for all the support you have given clients over the past 20 years.
