The Willows clients Diane Cosgrove and Michael Davies marry in Skewen Methodist church.
Michael and Diane were friends for 6 months before they became a couple in late 2008. The pair became an inseparable couple who really loved each other and loved being with each other as much as they could be. After a short time, Michael and Diane decided they should get married, to show each other and the world just how in love they were.
The wedding date was set for the 3rd of April 2010, in the Methodist church in Skewen with the reception at the Glyn Clydach Coach House in Longford, Neath. Diane and Michael saved all their money to pay for the wedding and they were helped by Diane’s mum 'Audrey Cosgrove' to pay for the day.
Diane got pampered in the morning having her hair nails and make up done by professionals in the coach house while Michael chilled out back in The Willows with support from staff if he needed anything.
Michael surprised Diane with a vintage rolls Royce that picked her up to take her to the church, she was totally unaware that Michael had arranged this for her. Michael also paid for a wedding car to take the brides family and bridesmaids to the church. Michael went to the church in a silver shadow jaguar which was arranged as a gift from his step brother.
The best man was Michael’s dad called Brian; the bridesmaids were Diane’s nieces Amy, Sophie and Emily. Diane was given away by her twin brothers Christopher and Phillip and the speech was given by Christopher.
Deputy manager Claire Lewis made the table planner and the names settings. Michael and Diane were supported by staff Adele Lewis and Janet Davies as these were the 2 chosen members of staff to attend; this decision was made by the happy couple who wanted minimum staff in the day. Both families and friends attended the day with many travelling from Ebbw Vale and Llanelli. .
After the wedding the happy couple stayed in the bridal suit in the coach house for the night and spent their first night as a married couple in style!
Michael gave Diane a locket as a wedding present and she gave him a personalized tankard which reads 'to Michael all my love on our wedding day love Diane'. They had many gifts on the day off their guests such as a microwave and an engraved silver photoframe.
Michael and Diane will be moving out into a flat as soon as a suitable one becomes available and they will be supported by staff from the willows in the future home.
