Isfryn is one of tracscare’s newest homes specialising in providing support for up to 8 clients who may have an acquired brain injury and associated challenging needs.

 

Isfryn has been purpose built for clients with acquired brain injuries, and puts client first with individual person centred care plans.  All clients have tailoured rooms and can personalise them to their preferences or needs.

 

Isfryn is located in the village of Ystradgynlais in the Swansea Valleys.  It is a detached house, comprising of two floors.  Each of its eight bedrooms are en-suite with a shower or bath (depending on clients' needs and choices) and 4 are located on the ground floor, with the other 4 on the first floor. The home has been designed to allow wheelchair access throughout and has a stair lift to the first floor.  All meet or exceed the care standards minimum standards of 12sq.m

 

It convenient locations allows easy to access to the amenities of nearby Pontardawe and the city of Swansea.  It is close to the beautiful countryside of the Brecon Beacons.  There are local shops, pubs & restaurants, a leisure centre, cinema.  The home is well situated for rural activities e.g. walking, cycling and horse riding.

 

Client’s at Isfryn can enjoy being at the centre of decision making regarding the homes activities, and will be given the chance to regularly express their opinions.  Clients will be encouraged to immerse themselves into the local community as much as possible, and will also be supported to maintain reloationships external to the home.

 

Isfryn is registered with the Care and Social Services Inspectorate for Wales (South West Wales Region, Unit C, Phase 3, Tawe Business Village, Phoenix Way, Swansea Enterprise Park, Swansea SA7 9LA  Tel: 01792 310 420) as a residential home for 8 adults with Aquired Brain Injury  (18-65).
