Location

Oakfield is located in Cheltenham, in the county of Gloucestershire. On the edge of the beautiful Cotswold countryside. Cheltenham was originally an Anglo Saxon market town, which was transformed into an elegant Regency resort following the discovery of medicinal springs. Oakfield is situated just a few minutes drive off the M5 in a quiet leafy suburb of Cheltenham, but close enough to access the town centre.

Accommodation

Oakfield is an annexe which is part of a fine Georgian House that offers quieter accommodation to 3 clients, away from the main hub of the home, where one bedroom has been converted into a bed sit. This area also offers opportunities to concentrate upon independent life skills. Oakfield has a sizeable lounge, kitchen and dining space and there is a bright sunny conservatory to provide additional space.

Client Group

Oakfield offers care for adults with multi diagnosis, brain injury, borderline learning difficulties or mental health problems.

Activities

Activities available to Oakfield clients are as wide as they are diverse. This includes Headway day placements; calling at Milson Street drop in centre; attending Gloucat college for adult education & training, the walking club, social skills training, art classes, aromatherapy classes, dog walking, charity events, bowling, cinema, swimming pool, home visits, parties/ BBQ's, newsletters, internet cafe, horticultural classes, numeracy & literacy classes. Cheltenham offers plenty of local facilities including parks, pubs, shopping and museums. In particular, Cheltenham has the Holst Museum at Regency House, where the 'Planet Suites' were penned in 1874. Cheltenham also hosts the annual 'International Festival of Music' at the Town Hall. Oakfield is located on a regular bur route into the town centre.
