Ty Llewellyn is found in a rural location in Aberdare, with quiet surroundings yet maintaining good transport links to the M4 and nearby towns and villages.
Ty Llewellyn is a substantial 6 bedroom detached house, split over two floors. All bedrooms have en-suite facilities for increased privacy, and all meet or exceed the Care Standards minimum standards of 12sq.m. A large living room, newly fitted kitchen and eating area make this home a relaxing environment, with a separate smoking area and activities room completing the home.
Ty Llewellyn can support 6 clients aged 18 to 65 with varied mental health needs, e.g. anxiety disorder, depression, post acute psychosis. We will provide therapeutic support for clients following discharge from acute hospital admissions and for clients who require additional support to regain, maintain and develop their living skills within a community setting.
All staff receive a mental health induction course specific to Ty Llewellyn covering psychosis, manic depression, neurosis obsessive compulsive disorder, anxiety disorder, depression, self harm, suicide, drugs and alcohol abuse. This is part of an ongoing training plan where staff will receive additional intensive training in areas covered in the initial induction course and any other areas depending on the needs of the clients. Staff are supported to work towards their NVQ qualifications and all staff are currently undertaking or have completed their NVQ awards. All staff complete POVA training in their probationary period, and complete Studio ??? training, a low arousal non-confrontational intervention.
