
Dyfan Court offers supported accommodation in the Vale of Glamorgan. This is close to the M4 and en route to the Wales Airport. The Vale of Glamorgan has many places of natural beauty including beaches and parks. Barry has a good shopping centre which includes a library.
Dyfan Court is a 4 bedroom bungalow, set within a quiet part of the Vale of Glamorgan. Dyfan Court is set out on a good size plot with gardens laid to lawn to the front and sides. There is also a patio and separate barbecue area for relaxing. All bedrooms fully furnished with; a bed and soft furnishings, wardrobes, chest of drawers, bedside table and armchairs. Individuals are encouraged to bring their own furnishings to personalize their rooms.
Dyfan Court is suitable for 4 adults aged between 18 and 65 with mental health needs and/or a learning disability, also for one person with a sensory impairment.
There are numerous activities on offer within the local area including local walks, the pleasure park, superb beaches as well as parks boasting huge grassy areas and with great history being attached. There are several pubs where food is served as well as having great restaurants and a cinema. There is a steam railway in operation at Barry Island which has regular popular visitors in terms of trains and their friends! There are several train and bus routes to Cardiff, Bridgend and other places of interest.
At Dyfan Court there is an average of 3 Staff on duty during the day and at least 1 wake night staff at night, and one sleep in. Staff receive extensive internal training, supplemented by relevant external courses to ensure a high level of client care. Such training includes manual Handling, Health and Safety and Fire Safety. Staff are trained or are working towards their NVQ level 2.
Based on individual needs, clients have access to a large professional team, which includes Clinical Support Nurses, speech therapist, clinical psychiatrist and behavioural therapist. Dyfan Court is registered for 4 adults with Learning Difficulty and/or Mental Health Disorder by the Care and Social Services Inspectorate Wales (CSSIW). The Inspectorate can be contacted at:
