Location

Bethany Lodge is situated in an attractive residential street in the City of Worcester. The property is believed to have been built in the 1930's and extended by an earlier owner in the 1980's. In late 2003, the Bethany Lodge was extensively remodelled and opened as a home for 8 adults with an autistic spectrum disorder. Malvern Road is one of the best well established areas of the City and there is excellent access to the shopping centre and all of the other facilities. A bus stop is situated very close to Bethany Lodge for those service users who wish to use public transport but the home has its own vehicles.

Accommodation

Bethany Lodge provides accommodation which is well beyond the national minimum care standard requirements. Some bedrooms are very large, significantly exceeding the 12 square metre base size. The home is comfortable, well equipped with a lounge, dining room, activity room, multi-sensory room for relaxation, art room for activities and a 'hot tub'.

Client Group

Bethany Lodge offers support for adults with Autistic Spectrum Disorder, including Aspergers.

Staff

All staff at Bethany Lodge receive extensive internal training supplemented by relevant external courses. Staff receive in-depth training and on-going support on low arousal techniques, which are at the core of tracscare care philosophy. Training is outlined in more detail on the Staff Page. Bethany Lodge's training is specifically geared towards an understanding of the Autistic Spectrum Disorder client's needs and a Total Communication approach.

Clinical Input

Each client at Bethany Lodge has an individual care plan, which is regularly monitored and updated. Clients have regular access to tracscare Clinical Support Nurse. plus specialist input in the areas of psychiatry, psychology, speech therapy, drama therapy on an individual needs basis. Bethany Lodge is registered along 8 adults with Learning Disabilities, specifically Autistic Spectrum Disorder by the Commission for Social Care Inspection. The Commission can be contacted at
