Location

The Home is situated near the village of Bryncoch, in beautiful countryside, yet close to the amenities of Neath and with good access to the M4. The house is situated off the main road, behind a large front garden & parking courtyard. To the rear of the house is a pleasant rural outlook.

Accommodation

Meadow View is a self contained Home, but part of a large, modern House with large bedrooms. Meadow View occupies the first floor. with its 'sister' Home, Cedar House, situated on the ground floor. Meadow View has 8 bedrooms, its own large lounge and dining area, ample toilets and bathrooms with some bedrooms having en-suite facilities. Meadow View is run separately to Cedar House, having its own staff team. Meadow View has large wide hallways, a large kitchen shared with the ground floor, its own snack preparation area and a separate smoking room. Outside there are large front and rear gardens allowing space for clients to sit and relax, which is shared with Cedar House.

Client Group

Meadow View offers care and accommodation for 8 Clients with brain injury, physical difficulty, learning disability and challenging needs. Meadow View caters for less vulnerable clients than Cedar House and all bedrooms are on the first floor, the Home is not suitable for clients who require wheelchair access, although there is a lift between the floors for clients with impaired mobility.

Activities

Meadow View staff encourage clients to fully participate in activities that are available in the local community such as the local cinemas, bowling alley, snooker hall, swimming pool, parks, cafes, pubs and gym. Activities are based on choice and individual care plans. Clients also access local colleges in Neath and Pontardawe

Staff

All staff receive extensive internal training supplemented by relevant external courses. Staff receive in-depth training and on-going support on low arousal techniques, which are at the core of tracscare care philosophy. Training is outlined in more detail on the Staff Page. Cedar House offer wake & sleep night staff support.

Care

The clients at Meadow View all have busy activity programmes and have support from staff to achieve them. All clients are given support in areas of personal care and daily living skills and are encouraged to live as independently as possible.

Clinical

A Clinical Support Nurse is employed to work closely alongside the Home Manager and clients keyworker, to ensure that the clients needs are assessed and addressed within individualised Care Plans. There is also Consultant Psychiatric support available for assessment, advice and the management of clients medication. The Clinical Support Nurse co-ordinates all other clinical input e.g.. psychology, speech therapy, drama therapy.

Meadow View is registered, as part of Cedar House,for 8 adults with an acquired brain injury (high dependancy) by the Care Standards Inspectorate Wales (CSIW) The Inspectorate can be contacted at
