Ashcombe Court is situated ten minutes walk from Weston's sea front, the Winter Gardens and the main shopping area. There are local shops across the road. The home is only a few miles the M5 Motorway, with easy access to Bristol and the West Country.
Accommodation
Ashcombe Court has 7 bedrooms, all with full ensuite shower facilities, with 2 ground floor rooms and 5 first floor rooms. There is also a house bathroom. Whilst the Home is not suitable for wheelchair users, there is disabled access and disabled toilet facilities. Ashcombe Court has a large kitchen, dining room, large lounge, meeting room and smoking 'bar'. Externally there is a decked patio area to the rear and landscaped gardens to the front and side.
Client Group
Ashcombe Court provides accommodation for 7 adults with mental health needs who may also have a borderline learning disability. Client opinion is crucial to the decision making processes and running of the home. Clients hold and attend monthly residents meetings based on their own agenda.
Activities
Activities available at Ashcombe Court include swimming, trips to the beach, BBQ's , access to the local college and leisure centre etc. Activities are dependent on individual preferences and there is an emphasis on reflecting ordinary life.
Staff
On average, 4 or 5 staff are on duty each day at Ashcombe Court, with sleep night staff support at night. All staff receive extensive internal training supplemented by relevant external courses. Staff receive in-depth training and on-going support on low arousal techniques, which are at the core of tracscare care philosophy. Training is outlined in more detail on the Staff Page.
Clinical
Clients at Ashcombe Court are registered with a local GP. Clients have access to tracscare Clinical Support Nurse plus consultant input in the areas of psychiatry, psychology, speech therapy, drama therapy on an individual needs basis.
