![]() tracscare - Our History
tracs Ltd was founded in 1983 initially to provide training services and then developing into residential care with the first Home, Hazeldene in Swansea, being established in 1985. Between 1985 and 1990, the company continued to expand, primarily within West Glamorgan but 'stepped outside' of this boundary with the opening of Bryn Irfon, Powys, in 1987. Further expansion, to address increasing demand, continued with Homes being opened in the Midlands. The first of these was Westholme, in Birmingham in 1991. Throughout the 90's additional Homes were opened in South Birmingham, Cheltenham and The Grove in Kidderminster, in 2002. Sovereign Capital, a successful independent private equity company acquired the share capital of tracs Ltd in 2004 when the holding company tracscare Group, was formed. 'Sovereign', who have extensive experience in the health and social care sector, through its many investments in this area, appointed a new management team, headed by Eric Millard, to drive tracscare through its next phase of development. The 'new team' have implemented a vigorous development strategy growth, which has so far seen the opening of ten new Homes and the acquisition of Compass Care Ltd; Bethany Lodge (Worcester) Ltd and Honeybrook House (Kidderminster) Ltd. In 2006, Sovereign Capital acquired Alkare Ltd, as further but separate investment in South Wales. The tracscare Directors also form the Alkare Board.
