tracscare - Woodlands

Location

Woodlands is a new tracscare home located in a suburban neighbourhood near Acocks green, in Birmingham.

Accommodation

Woodlands is a detached house of character over three floors, with six full en-suite bedrooms. A spacious lounge is situated on the ground floor, along with a quiet room, laundry room and one bedroom. Four bedrooms are found on the first floor along with a separate bathroom, with the 6th bedroom on the second floor. Woodlands benefits from an enclosed private garden to the rear of the home.

Client Group

Woodlands provide care and support to six adults with varied Mental Health needs, which may include anxiety disorder, depression and post-acute psychosis. Woodlands also supports clients with a level of challenging needs associated with their Mental Health requirements.

Activities

Clients are encouraged to partake in local facilities such as the colleges, drop in centres and leisure centres, as well as the in-house activities such as music/art therapy, computer studies and cooking sessions. Clients are encourage and supported to maintain relationships with friends and families, by making visits to them or joining them at social events.

Staff

There are an average of 4/5 staff on duty during the day, and 1 wake night staff and a sleep night staff at night. However, one-:to-one staffing is available dependent on client needs. All staff receive a Mental Health induction course specific to Woodlands, covering associated mental health issues including Psychosis, Manic Depression, Neurosis Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and Depression. Staff receive training on First Aid, Food hygiene and a 1 day course 'understanding the clients perspective'. Staff are encouraged to attend external courses, and participate in Studio 3 low arousal training. Many staff are also working towards their N.V.Q's.

Woodlands is registered with the Commission for Social Care Inspection in Birmingham.
