tracscare - Wings

Location

'Wings', named in recognition of the location of the home, which is near to the Mildenhall USAF Air Base, is a large detached bungalow. Set off the main road along a private lane, the Home has views across beautiful fields in a pleasant rural location.

Accommodation

Wings has six ground floor single rooms, with one large lounge, a separate dining room, a meeting room, kitchen and utility room. Wings also has three bathrooms, one of which is equipped as a 'wet' room. The garden is completely enclosed with a large patio area. The front garden is used for car parking and can accommodate up to ten vehicles.

Client Group

Wings can accommodate six adults between the ages of 18 and 65 with learning disabilities and associated mental health needs that may challenge the services provided.

Activities

In the local area there are a number of small shops and pubs, a post office and various places of worship. The home also benefits from being within a short drive from the village of Mildenhall or larger Suffolk conurbations.

Staff

At Wings , all staff receive extensive internal training supplemented by relevant external courses. Staff receive in-depth training and on-going support on low arousal techniques, which are the core of tracscare care philosophy. Training is outlined in more detail on the Staff Page.

Care

The philosophy of Wings is to support and enable our clients towards independent living skills. The home's care policy is outlined fully within tracscare Care Policy.

Clinical

Based on individual needs, clients have access to a larger professional team, which may include tracscare Clinical Support Nurses, speech therapist, psychologist, masseur, clinical psychiatrist, reflexologist and behavioural therapist. The Home has strong links with the Community Support Teams who provide support and training to the staff and service users as required.

The home is registered with C.S.C.I. and comes under the category 'Mental Handicap/Mental Disorder' and can accommodate adults with a learning disability and associated Mental Health needs. The unit is experienced at providing services to people who have challenging behaviours.
