tracscare - Trevelyan

Trevelyan, opened in July 2007, is situated in the beautiful village of Bronwydd only two miles from Carmarthen town centre in South Wales.

Accommodation

Trevelyan is a modern detached house with five bedrooms, all with full en-suite facilities, a large lounge, a separate dining room, kitchen, laundry and meeting room. Trevelyan is furnished to a high standard ensuring a warm homely environment. Outside there is a large games room, with music and a separate smoking shelter. A Home has a tiered , private garden with BBQ area. There is also parking for five cars.

Client Group

Trevelyan is committed to providing care and support for 5 male and female adults experiencing mental health problems; which could include non-acute anxiety order, schizophrenia and depression.

Activities

Activities in the local area include theatres, leisure centres and colleges. Within Trevelyan, music/art therapy, gardening, working on the computer, cooking sessions and independent life skills are activities strongly encouraged by staff for clients to lead fulfilled lives. Activities will be identified through individual client activity programmes on a weekly basis in line with their care plan.

Clients are supported to maintain relationships with friends and families in other ways of their choice such as visiting them in neutral venues or joining them at a social event.

Staff

There is, on average, 4 staff on duty during the day. There are a range of experienced staff, all holding varying qualifications including N.V.Q level 2, 3 and 4, and having or working towards Studio 111 and First Aid work. Training is varied, but particularly concentrates on clinical awareness of client groups and low arousal responses to challenging needs. Clinical

tracscare employs RMN qualified Clinical Support Nurses to share up to date knowledge and research with the care staff teams and where required tracscare arranges input from Therapists, Consultant Psychiatrist and Clinical Psychologists.

Trevelyan is registered with the Care Standards Inspectorate for Wales (CSIW) Carmarthenshire. Trevelyan is a residential home for five adults with mental health needs between the ages of 18-65. Nursing care is not provided.
