 tracscare - OakhillLocationOakhill is a new tracscare development, located in Fforestfach, Swansea, that opened in October 2006 AccommodationOakhill was originally a small domestic bungalow residence, which has been rebuilt, to create a wheelchair friendly environment. The Home has 7 single bedrooms, all with full en-suite facilities, of which five are ground floor rooms suitable for wheelchair access. Two bedrooms are on the first floor, for mobility impaired or more able bodied clients. A wheelchair lift is available. The Home has a large lounge, dining room, meeting room, smoking room, good sized kitchen and laundry rooms all of which are accessible by wheelchair. Externally there is a ramped access to the rear garden, where raised flower beds have been created. In addition to the ramped access to the front entrance, there is ample off road parking. Client GroupOakhill offers care to 7 adults with a brain injury. ActivitiesIn Fforsetfach, there are local shops and a pub across the road. Approximately 1 mile down the road is the recently developed ‘out of town’ shopping centre. Swansea City centre is only a short journet away, offering restaurants, library, leisure centre, the Marina, beach, sea front and various places of worship. StaffOakhill has an average of 5 staff on duty during the day and at night 1 wake night with 1 sleep night cover. All staff receive extensive internal training, supplemented by relevant external courses to ensure a high level of client care. All staff receive induction in the clinical and rehabilitation aspects of brain injury. Training is outlined in more detail on the Training Page. Clinicaltracscare employs qualified Clinical Support Nurses to share up to date knowledge and research with the care staff teams and where required tracscare arranges input from Therapists, Consultant Psychiatrist and Clinical Psychologists. Oakhill is registered with the Care Standards Inspectorat Wales (CSIW) for 7 adults with brain injury. CSIW
