tracscare - Honeybrook House

Location

Honeybrook House is a fine Georgian property set in beautiful grounds of about 3 acres. Situated on the outskirts of Kidderminster it enjoys the benefits of urban living yet has a secluded setting with a rural outlook. The house was a nursing home for 17 elderly residents until 2004 when it was converted into a very spacious home for 10 adults with learning difficulties, specifically within an autistic spectrum disorder.

Accommodation

All rooms within Honetbrook House are large and offer residents plenty of space. The Home has a large lounge, dining room, conservatory, breakfast room and kitchen. There is a multi-sensory room for relaxation, art room for activities and an aroma therapy room. The three large communal rooms all have pleasant views of the extensive grounds. Bedrooms are all en-suite (with full bathrooms rather than showers) and many enjoy views of the surrounding countryside and gardens.

Client Group

Honeybrook House offers support for adults with Autistic Spectrum Disorder, including Aspergers.

Staff

All staff at Honeybrook House receive extensive internal training supplemented by relevant external courses. Staff receive in-depth training and on-going support on low arousal techniques, which are at the core of tracscare care philosophy. Training is outlined in more detail on the Staff Page. Honeybrook House's training is specifically geared towards an understanding of the Autistic Spectrum Disorder client's needs and a Total Communication approach.

Clinical Input

Each client at Honeybrook House has an individual care plan, which is regularly monitored and updated. Clients have regular access to tracscare Clinical Support Nurse. plus specialist input in the areas of psychiatry, psychology, speech therapy, drama therapy on an individual needs basis. Honeybrook House is registered along 10 adults with Learning Disabilities, specifically Autistic spectrum Disorder by the Commission for Social Care Inspection. The Commission can be contacted at
