 tracscare - HomeleighLocationHomeleigh. is a small Home situated on a quiet road in Morriston, a residential area of Swansea, within walking distance to the local shops. The home is 2 miles from Junction 45 of the M4 Motorway, 3 miles from Swansea City Centre and 4 miles from the coast. AccommodationHomeleigh is located next door to another tracscare Home, Hazeldene. Homeleigh has 3 bedrooms and a communal bathroom plus additional WC on the first floor. Homeleigh has a large kitchen with dining area and a lounge. There is also a conservatory, which is the designated smoking area for the home. Client GroupHomeleigh. provides accommodation for 3 adults with multi-diagnosis, but predominantly, brain injury. Client opinion is crucial to the decision making processes and running of the home. Clients hold and attend monthly residents meetings based on their own agenda. ActivitiesActivities available at Homeleigh. include swimming, day trips out (e.g. to the coast), BBQ's and social evenings. Local colleges offer word processing, English/ language and art classes. Activities are dependent on individual preferences and there is an emphasis on reflecting ordinary life e.g. leisure, vocational, domestic. StaffOn average, 2 staff are on duty each day at Homeleigh., with sleep night staff support at night. Welsh speakers are available. All staff receive extensive internal training supplemented by relevant external courses. Staff receive in-depth training and on-going support on low arousal techniques, which are at the core of tracscare care philosophy. Training is outlined in more detail on the Staff Page. ClinicalAll clients at Homeleigh. are registered with a local GP. Clients have access to tracscare Clinical Support Nurse plus consultant input in the areas of psychiatry, art therapy, psychology, speech therapy, drama therapy on an individual needs basis. Clients may also join in tracscare's Brain Injury Group (refer to James St). "Staff also check people are well and in good health." (Client Comment) CareThe philosophy of Homeleigh. is to support, encourage and motivate our clients towards a more independent life style, i.e. doing their own food shopping, using public transport, being trusted with money. (Client Comment). The home's care policy is outlined fully within tracscare Care Policy. "Our home is warm, friendly and inviting, everyone gets on well with everyone else. If any of us require or need anything, we only have to ask. The staff are UNIQUE in our home because, they are all good at their jobs and take things seriously when necessary, but also know when to relax and have a laugh, which is a really good quality."
