![]() tracscare - HilltopLocationHilltop is located on the second (top) floor of its sister Home, Westholme, in Birmingham. Westholme is situated in a leafy suburb location, in a quiet residential street, close to the village centres of Moseley and Kings Heath, where there are numerous shops, restaurants and entertainment. The Home is just a short bus ride away from Birmingham City centre, which offers a good variety of facilities. Westholme is a spacious 3 storey Victorian building, set in large gardens There are plenty of parks nearby including, Moseley Bog (inspirational to JRR Tolkien for Lord of the Rings) and Moseley Private Park to name but two. AccommodationHilltop occupies the whole of the second floor offering clients either bed sit accommodation or bedrooms with kitchenette style facilities. All rooms share a communal lounge. Client GroupHilltop currently provides support to 4 clients with learning difficulties or brain injury, who are ready for greater independence. Care focusses on Independent Lifeskills assessment and training. ActivitiesAt Hilltop clients are able to access Employment Preparation Training): Voluntary Work (e.g. Afro Caribbean day centre & Annie Wood Day Centre); Rathbone College; Independent living skills course; Ballroom & Country Dancing classes; Advocacy classes & Drama classes. Nearby is the Edgbaston Cricket Ground, Midlands Art Centre and Cocksmoor Leisure Centre. Within the City of Birmingham, major entertainment events take place at the Symphony Hall, NIA and NEC. The city also has three main theatres, the Alexander Theatre, The Birmingham Hippodrome and the Birmingham Repertory Theatre as well as the Midlands Arts Centre. StaffHilltop have an average of 1.5 staff on duty during the day and one sleep night staff, available downstairs within Westholme, at night. All staff receive extensive internal training supplemented by relevant external courses. Staff receive in-depth training and on-going support on low arousal techniques, which are the core of tracscare care philosophy. Training is outlined in more detail on the Staff Page. Staff are provided to support clients when they take a holiday break. CareWe aim to encourage client's independence and life skills through the provision of independent living assessment and individualised care plans. The client's family are invited to participate in and oversee the care plans on offer, also the family and friends are encouraged to give constructive feedback regarding existing plans. The clients are involved in the decision making within the home, be it decoration, menu planning, planning activities and interviewing new staff. The staffing team is dedicated, hard working and committed to providing a high level of care. The home's care policy is outlined fully within tracscare Care Policy. ClinicalClients receive support and input from tracscare Clinical Support Nurse with regard to behavioural programmes. Other clinical consultancy can be accessed on a needs basis. Hilltop initiated the “independent lifeskills assessment' process, which has now been incorporated into tracscare's quality system. Hilltop is registered, as part of Westholme, for 4 adults with Learning Difficulty or Brain Injury by the Commission for Social Care and Inspection (CSCI). The Commission can be contacted at CSCI
