AccommodationGlanmore, which opened in November 2005, has 7 bedrooms all with full ensuite facilities. There are 2 ground floor rooms, 3 first floor rooms and 2 second floor. The second floor would lend itself to conversion into a separate suite for someone who requires more independent living. Whilst the Home is not suitable for wheelchair users, there is disabled access and disabled toilet facilities. Glanmore has a large kitchen, dining room, lounge, large conservatory and meeting room and smoking room. Externally there is a rear lawn, patio area and car park. Client GroupGlanmore provides accommodation for 7 adults with dual-diagnosis, and at present is registered for 6 clients with a Learning Disability with or without Mental Health needs and one client with a Mental Health disorder only. Client opinion is crucial to the decision making processes and running of the home. Clients hold and attend monthly residents meetings based on their own agenda. ActivitiesActivities available at Glanmore include access to the local college, local shopping and leisure centre etc. Activities are dependent on individual preferences and there is an emphasis on reflecting ordinary life. StaffOn average, 4 or 5 staff are on duty each day at Glanmore, with wake night and sleep night staff support at night. All staff receive extensive internal training supplemented by relevant external courses. Staff receive in-depth training and on-going support on low arousal techniques, which are at the core of tracscare's care philosophy. Training is outlined in more detail on the Staff Page. ClinicalClients at Glanmore are registered with a local GP. Clients have access to tracscare's Clinical Support Nurse plus consultant input in the areas of psychiatry, psychology, speech therapy, drama therapy on an individual needs basis. CareThe philosophy of Glanmore is to support and enable our clients towards independent living skills. The home's care policy is outlined fully within tracscare's Care Policy.
