Location

Evergreen is located in Moseley, a quiet leafy suburban of Birmingham. The home is in part of a quiet community, with local shops nearby., day centres and sport centre. The Midlands Arts Centre is also nearby. There are plenty of parks nearby including Moseley Bog (inspirational to JRR Tolkien for Lord of the Rings) and Moseley Private Park to name just two. There are plenty of venues for socialising close by. Evergreen is located on a good bus route.

Accommodation

Evergreen is a detached house on 2 floors, with 4 ground floor bedrooms and 4 first floor bedrooms, all of which are single occupancy. There is a large comfortable communal lounge and sunny conservatory. Outside there is a well laid out garden and rear decking area with patio. There is ramp access to the front and rear of the house. The front has forecourt parking area.

Client Group

Evergreen offers care to adults of aged 45+ and with varying disabilities, including adults primarily with brain injury, or dual diagnosis needs in a small friendly environment. Evergreen has ground floor rooms for clients who have impaired mobility.

Activities

At Evergreen many activities are accessible to clients. Local facilities include: cinemas, local shops, museums, day centres (including Headway), Head Injuries Club, local pubs, bingo, and colleges, Employment Training Unit. Within the City of Birmingham, major entertainment events take place at the Symphony Hall, NIA and NEC. The city also has three main theatres, the Alexander Theatre, The Birmingham Hippodrome and the Birmingham Repertory Theatre as well as the Midlands Arts Centre. In-house activities include: bingo, chess, cards, memory games, reading/writing skills, music/ art therapy, and gardening.

Staff

Evergreen operates with 4 staff to 8 clients during the day with both Wake Night & Sleep in Staff at nightime. All staff receive extensive internal training supplemented by relevant external courses. Staff receive in-depth training and on-going support on low arousal techniques, which are at the core of tracscare care philosophy. Training is outlined in more detail on the Staff Page.

Care

Evergreen aims to promote independence, dignity and friendship within a secure and safe environment, through high staffing and morale. The client's family are invited to participate in and oversee the care plans on offer, also the family / friends are encouraged to give constructive feedback regarding existing plans. The clients are involved in the decision making within the home, be it decoration, menu planning, (Picture) planning activities, interviewing new staff. The staffing team is dedicated, hard working and committed to providing a high level of care. The home's care policy is outlined fully within tracscare Care Policy.

Clinical

All Evergreen clients are registered with a local GP. Clients have access to tracscare Clinical Support Nurse plus consultant input in the areas of psychiatry, psychology, speech therapy, drama therapy & aromatherapy on an individual needs basis.

Vehicles

Evergreen has a vehicle available for client outings. Evergreen is registered for 8 adults with brain injury, physical disability, learning difficulties and mental health needs by the Commision for Social Care and Inspection (CSCI). The Commission can be contacted at
